Hubspot Inbound 2020: A C-Level Perspective

Inbound-2020

HubSpot, while quietly rolling out beta functionality all year, saves the big announcements for its annual Inbound conference. Even with the shift to virtual, there were over 250 sessions from global thought-leaders and big-name speakers, insightful case studies, and an awful lot of rah rah to help your marketing team embrace an inbound strategy. Whether you use HubSpot’s CRM, Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, or the full HubSpot growth suite, here’s a summary of the product updates:

  1. Pay only for marketing contacts. Your team, like most, spent time gaming the system to avoid a cost increase due to contact limits. HubSpot has eliminated this nuisance, allowing you to segment contacts and pay only for those you’re actively marketing to (the point of the platform is, after all, to grow—and that means increasing the number of leads).
  2. Custom objects. Simplify custom development to prevent costly buildouts and upkeep. Custom objects give you the flexibility to organize and store data in a way that works for your business, enabling an easier integration into your ERP system.
  3. Improved quoting and proposals. If you do nothing else this year, take a good look at your quote speed and ease of use. Quickly responding to RFQs is the top way to close more business. Are you still asking your prospects, in a work-from-home environment, to print out, sign, scan, and return a quote? HubSpot’s quote tool is built-in, easy, and more importantly, a quick, seamless experience for your customers.
  4. Sales analytics: Reports and dashboards just got a whole lot better. If you’ve struggled with how to measure your sales team’s progress and motivate them in a challenging year, the sales analytics report makes it easy to identify and track at the activity level—focusing on things they can control.
  5. CRM contact autofill. The HubSpot CRM now auto-fills contact information from email signatures, eliminating one more barrier to your team’s adoption and daily use of a CRM.

While we’re platform-agnostic, I absolutely believe in getting the most out of the tool you’ve got. The new HubSpot product announcements will help to make account-based marketing, marketing and sales automation, streamlined quoting, and sales management more sophisticated and effective for any size business.
